About Me

Hi all! I’m Elayna, and I’m the creator of this blog. My biggest goal since beginning law school has been to achieve a balanced lifestyle, hence the name: Law Student Balance.

I go to law school in Minnesota, and my journey throughout has always been about the promotion of social justice and equity-focused policies. I hope to carry these values into my practice as an attorney in a couple short years. My current role as a law clerk working in consumer litigation has been extremely rewarding due to its alignment with my principles.

Exercise has always been a big part of my life. I find it helps with stress and makes me feel strong and motivated to do anything. This past spring, I took the leap and became a certified Yoga Sculpt instructor! I teach once a week to a class full of amazing individuals and it has quickly become my favorite part of every week.

I adopted my cat, Jasper, during my first semester of law school. I was worried having a pet would add to the stress of being a law student, but he has had the opposite effect. Having a pet is a big responsibility, but it feels great putting time and energy into something other than myself. Jasper is 4 years old, but has the energy of a kitten!
